StillGood
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
StillGood is an iPhone app from Nomadic Forge LLC that helps you track the food you have, estimate when it expires, and waste less. This policy explains what data the app uses, where it goes, and what we keep. In short: there is no account, no ads, and no tracking. Your pantry stays on your iPhone. Photos you scan are sent to a cloud AI service to read them, and we do not keep them.
Data on your iPhone
Your pantry items, shopping list, prices and store names from confirmed receipts, settings, and Insights totals are stored only on your iPhone. We cannot see them. Deleting the app deletes them. Settings also offers Delete all inventory.
StillGood does not save the receipt or shelf photos you scan. They are held in memory while the scan runs and then discarded.
StillGood has no account and no sign-in.
Cloud receipt and pantry reading
When Cloud receipt AI is on (it is on by default) and you are online, the photo you scan is sent over an encrypted connection to a Nomadic Forge LLC server that runs on Cloudflare Workers. That server forwards the photo to Google's Gemini API, which returns the grocery lines it reads. The server sends those lines back to your iPhone and does not store the photo or the result. The server records basic operational details for each request, such as timing, size, and whether it succeeded, but never the photo or what it shows. Cloudflare also keeps standard request logs (such as time, IP address, and response status) for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Google processes the photo under the Gemini API Additional Terms. We use Google's paid Gemini API service. Under those terms Google does not use your photos or the lines it reads from them to improve its products, and processes them as our data processor under Google's data processing terms. Google logs them for a limited period only to detect and prevent misuse of the service and to meet legal or regulatory requirements. They may be stored briefly or cached in any country where Google or its agents have facilities.
Snap pantry (fridge or shelf photos) works the same way and needs Cloud receipt AI.
You can turn Cloud receipt AI off in Settings. Receipts are then read on your iPhone with Apple's Vision text recognition, and on devices that support it, Apple Intelligence on-device models. Nothing is sent to us or to Google in that mode.
Product lookups (Open Food Facts)
To suggest a category, storage spot, and expiry, the app may look up a scanned item's barcode or name in Open Food Facts, a free public food database. Only the barcode or item name is sent, with no account or identifier from us. Open Food Facts handles those requests under its own privacy policy.
Apple services
- Camera and Photos: used only when you choose to scan or import a photo.
- Notifications: optional local alerts for items to use soon and on the expiry day. They are scheduled on your iPhone, not sent from a server.
- Reminders: optional export of shopping list items into Apple Reminders, requested only when you export.
- StillGood Plus: purchases and restores go through Apple. We never receive your payment details.
What we do not do
- No advertising or ad networks
- No analytics or tracking SDKs in the app, and no tracking across apps or websites
- No selling or sharing of personal data for marketing
- No contact upload
Children
StillGood is meant for adults managing a household kitchen. It is not directed at children, and cloud reading is not intended for users under 18. If you believe a child has used the cloud reading feature, contact us.
Your choices
You can turn off Cloud receipt AI, notifications, and Reminders access at any time in Settings or in iOS Settings. Because we do not keep your data on our servers, there is nothing for us to export or delete. Your data on the iPhone is yours to delete.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and the copy at this address.
